Singer Susan Boyle is heading out on tour for the first time after finally feeling ready to perform a string of live shows for her fans.
The unlikely superstar shot to fame in 2009 when she auditioned for Simon Cowell on Britain's Got Talent, and has gone on to boast a global following.
She has restrained from touring in subsequent years, but has now confirmed she will perform a string of concerts in her native Scotland, starting in July (13).
A statement on her website reads, "This is the first year that I feel I can hold my own on a stage for the full time and that I will be able to please an audience and my fans. So I will be performing on 7 nights in Scotland as a tester to see if I enjoy it. The venues chosen are intimate and steeped in Scottish history."
Boyle insists she will head out on a world tour if fans enjoy her Scottish shows, adding, "Fingers crossed it will all go well and then as they say the world is my oyster and I can look in 2014 to do more, well that's the plan anyway."
