Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle has forgiven the teenage burglar who stole cash from her home.
The star returned to her house in West Lothian, Scotland in January (10) to find an intruder in the hallway. A 16-year-old youth later admitted a charge of theft for stealing $13.50 (£9) from the house, and was ordered to hand over $150 (£100) to Boyle's chosen charity.
But the singer admits she pities the teenage thief - because he must have been "desperate" to turn to crime.
Boyle tells Britain's Daily Record, "It was such a shame to find I'd been burgled but, apart from shaking me up a bit, nothing personal had been taken. It's a shame that people get that desperate in life. It makes you realise how fortunate you are."
