America's first Survivor winner, Richard Hatch, has been charged with tax evasion.

Hatch won $1 million (GBP526,300) back in 2000 when he became the first winner of the reality TV show, but he failed to declare the cash.

The TV star, who famously disrobed for the first Survivor series, pleaded guilty to two counts of tax evasion yesterday (18JAN05).

Hatch, 43, has also been charged with omitting a $300,000 (GBP157,890) sum he was paid as an on-air personality for a Boston, Massachusetts, radio station in 2001.

Hatch is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence Federal Court in Rhode Island on 24 January (05).
