Ethan Zohn, the American reality star who scooped the $1 million prize on Survivor : Africa', the third season of the show, is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma again. The long-time charity worker had been in remission from cancer for 20 months, until doctors found it had returned on14th September 2011, reports People Magazine.
The 37-year-old revealed, "It's localized in my lung area. But it's good that it's not all over my body". Hodgkin's lymphoma is a form of cancer much less common than lymphatic cancer - only 8,830 new cases were recorded last year, with a reported 1,300 deaths from the disease. His partner, another former Survivor winner Jenna Morasca, spoke of her devastation upon hearing Ethan's cancer had returned, saying, "The first time, as devastating and crazy and horrible as it was, I was like, Fine, we're going to beat this. This time was a lot more devastating for me because we'd already been through so much", adding, "We really had moved on with our life and we had a lot of stuff we wanted to do that didn't involve cancer - I didn't think we'd have to do this again". Despite the bad news, the couple aren't going to stop planning their future together - specifically their wedding. Remaining upbeat, Morasca said, "When we do get married, that whole in sickness and in health is a joke.Just take that out, we already did that. You just realize how much you love each other and you want to continue on as planned".
The couple participated alongside one another in the 19th season of 'The Amazing Race', being eliminated during the second double elimination.
