TV advertisements JANET JACKSON shot to commemorate Black History Month for urban cable network BET are to be aired as planned, despite outrage about the singer's breast-bearing performance at the Super Bowl (01FEB04).

The pop superstar recorded the morale-boosting American TV public service announcements just days before she stepped onto the Super Bowl stage with Justin Timberlake.

In the ads, Jackson - dressed solemnly in a long black leather coat - urges black men and women to respect their roots, stand proud and do something meaningful. The ads began airing on Super Bowl Sunday (01FEB04).

Jackson pulled out of yesterday's (08FEB04) Grammy Awards, where she was scheduled to introduce a tribute to ailing soul star Luther Vandross, due to the controversy surrounding her raunchy Super Bowl performance.
