Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley defied doctor's orders to perform a gig at the weekend (07-08Aug10) - just two days after he was attacked in a bar brawl in Japan.
The rocker was admitted to hospital after he was assaulted by three people during a night out on Thursday (05Aug10).
He received treatment for a slipped disc but refused to let his injuries keep him from performing sets with Sum 41 at the Summersonic Music Festival in Osaka on Saturday (07Aug10) and Tokyo on Sunday (08Aug10).
A statement issued by the band on Saturday reads: "Despite doctor's instructions, he has decided to play today's show at Summersonic regardless."
Japanese authorities are believed to be investigating the attack.
