New Sugababes star Jade Ewen is devastated her first gig with the band has been scrapped - because the appearance was in aid of charity.
The Push The Button trio was forced to pull out of headlining the Scottish Royal Variety Performance in Glasgow on Thursday (08Oct09), due to legal reasons connected to the departure of Keisha Buchanan, who left the group in September (09).
Organisers of the show will donate profits through ticket sales to the Royal Blind Society - and Ewen is especially upset she is not involved in the fundraiser because both her parents have severe sight problems.
She says, "This is such a disappointment to all of us because not only were we looking forward to this being our very first gig together, but my dad happens to be blind and my mum is partially sighted, and I know first-hand the great work the charity does for families like mine."
But the star is determined to help the charity in future - and has vowed to organise another fundraising show.
She adds, "Heidi, Amelle and I have agreed to put on our own gig to support this massively worthwhile cause. We can't wait to visit Scotland in the near future!"
