Stone Roses stars Ian Brown and John Squire reunited on stage on Friday night (02Dec11) for the first time in 16 years.
The rockers have revived the legendary band for a series of gigs next year (12) and they preceded the comeback tour with an appearance at a charity gig in Manchester, England.
Brown and Squire took to the stage to play the Stone Roses' track Elizabeth My Dear at the concert at the city's Ritz venue, held as part of Mick Jones' Hillsborough Justice Campaign tour, according to NME.com.
They also performed covers of Bankrobber and Armagideon Time by Jones' band The Clash. The pair has not performed together in public since the Stone Roses' U.K. tour in 1995, shortly before Squire quit the group.
The gig raised money for the campaign set up by the relatives of 96 people who died in Britain's Hillsborough soccer disaster of 1989.
