Sri Lankan film-makers have asked the international movie community to increase its efforts to help survivors of the Indian Ocean tsunami.

Producer CHANDRAN RUTNAM - who worked as production supervisor on the 1984 Hollywood film INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM - has called on "generous friends" to contribute all they can.

In particular, Rutnam has asked for help from those who've previously worked in Sri Lanka, which was left devastated following the tsunami on 26 December (04).

American director Steven Spielberg, who directed the Indiana Jones movie, has already donated $1.5 million (GBP800,000) to the post-tsunami relief effort.
