Disabled teenager LAUREN HENDERSON was in for a treat on Thursday night (24MAR05) when she joined her peers to salute movie maker Steven Spielberg for his charity efforts - he offered her a job.
Spielberg met the bubbly brunette at a gala for children's charity Starlight Starbright Foundation, where he was honoured for his generosity and efforts.
And when the director heard of Henderson's dreams to write and make movies, he decided it should be a special night for her too.
He said, "You're 19-years-old and I see in your eyes that when you say you want to be a director and a writer, you really want to do this.
"I'm going to offer Lauren a six-week internship on the next movie I direct in 2006."
It was also a good night for DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES staar Teri Hatcher, who raised $35,000 (GBP18,400) in an auction. She'll join the top bidder for lunch.
The gala raised a total of $2 million (GBP1.05 million).
