The bike will be among the highlights at an upcoming Hollywood Legends sale, featuring a handful of the late legend's keepsakes, also including a racing jacket and the actor's signed will.

News of the Julien's Auctions bike sale - set for 29 April (17) - comes just weeks after news of the discovery of the Mustang GT MCQueen drove in 1968 movie Bullitt in a Baja, California scrapyard.

The car went missing shortly after filming wrapped and MCQueen spent years unsuccessfully trying to track it down. It was found last year (17), restored by body shop owner Ralph Garcia, Jr., and it was recently confirmed as the same car that was driven in the movie by the Hollywood icon.

Bosses at the auction house in Los Angeles are also putting a rare collection of shirts worn by the late Heath Ledger and actor Jake Gyllenhaal in 2005 movie Brokeback Mountain up for sale.

A yellow and blue Western style shirt worn by Ledger as Ennis Del Mar, features fake blood stains from the film's passionate fight scene between Heath and Gyllenhaal.
