The late wildlife expert's 17-year-old daughter Bindi is already no stranger to TV contests as she won U.S. show Dancing with the Stars in November (15).

Now the teenager, her 12-year-old brother Bob, and their mother Terri have been unveiled as surprise campmates in the current Aussie run of the jungle-based survival show, which is filmed in South Africa and launched on Sunday (31Jan16).

They will join other contestants including cricket legend Shane Warne, actress Val Lehman, DJ Havana Brown, and British choreographer Bonnie Lythgoe.

A spokesman for TV network Channel Ten tells the Herald Sun newspaper, "The Irwins are Australia's favourite and most famous wildlife warriors. We are very honoured that Terri, Bindi and Robert have agreed to drop into the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! camp and we know the campmates will be amazed and excited."

Steve Irwin, who shot to fame as presenter of dramatic wildlife show The Crocodile Hunter, died in 2006 after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb as he shot a nature programme.
