LATEST: The father of Steve Irwin has told the Australian government his son would not have wanted a state funeral, because the late CROCODILE HUNTER star saw himself as "an ordinary bloke". Irwin was killed when a stingray speared him through the heart as he swam by the Great Barrier Reef while filming an underwater documentary on Monday (04SEP06). Australian Prime Minister John Howard has told Irwin's family he can be honoured with a full state funeral, and the final decision lies with the naturalist's widow TERRI. But Irwin's father BOB insists, "He's just an ordinary bloke, and he wants to be remembered as an ordinary bloke."
