Actor Steve Bisley has been ordered to carry out 300 hours of community service for assaulting his ex-wife.
The Mad Max star was arrested after a bust-up with Sally Burleigh in Balmain, Sydney in September last year (09). Burleigh told cops he slammed her head into a wall during a heated argument.
Bisley denied one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one of common assault, insisting he acted in self-defence, but he was found guilty earlier this month (Sep10).
Magistrate Jane Culver sentenced the actor to 300 hours of community service at a hearing at Sydney's Central Local Court on Monday (20Sep10), according to the Australian Associated Press.
The court heard the case is already affecting Bisley's career - he has lost work on three TV shows since the charges were brought, including an appearance on Celebrity MasterChef.
