Disgraced actor Stephen Collins came face-to-face with his estranged wife Faye Grant on Wednesday (14Jan15) as a Los Angeles judge set a February (15) start date for their divorce trial.

The court proceedings were postponed in November (14), when Grant's motion for a delay was approved to allow her attorney to resign from the case due to a conflict.

The two parties returned to a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, when the judge overseeing the dispute set the trial date for 9 February (15).

The judge also ordered Collins and Grant to meet next week (begs19Jan15) for a settlement conference to see if they can work out their issues before heading to trial, reports Tmz.com.

One of the main issues of contention is spousal support payments for Grant - Collins previously requested she be denied future funds because he has been left with no income following his child molestation scandal, which began in October (14), when audio footage, in which he confesses to inappropriately touching young girls, surfaced online.

The former 7th Heaven star, 67, insisted the tapes, which were secretly recorded by Grant during a therapy session in 2012, were leaked by her. Collins has since admitted he did have inappropriate sexual contact with three female minors between 1973 and 1994.

Grant, who filed for divorce in 2012 after 27 years of marriage, is also seeking to have her share of assets protected by law in the event her ex is sued by his victims.
