Comedian Stephen Colbert closed out the debut episode of his new Late Show on Tuesday night (08Sep15) by recruiting a slew of famous musicians to take part in a jam session with his house band, Jon Batiste and Stay Human. As the jazz group performed Sly and the Family Stone classic Everyday People, the musicians were joined by Aloe Blacc, Ben Folds, Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard, and gospel star Mavis Staples, in addition to Beirut rockers Zach Condon, Kyle Resnick and Ben Lanz and guitar greats Buddy Guy and Derek Trucks. George Clooney and Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush served as the TV host's first Late Show guests. Colbert replaces David Letterman as the host of the popular late-night show.
