Actor Stephen Baldwin has reduced his U.S. tax debt by $100,000 (£66,700) after making the payment during a court hearing in New York on Friday (18Oct13).
The Usual Suspects star was arrested in December (12) amid allegations he owed an estimated $350,000 (£233,330) in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service for the years 2008, 2009, and 2010.
In March (13), the 47 year old pleaded guilty to tax evasion as part of a deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time, and was ordered to pay back the outstanding sum over the course of one year.
He handed over a cheque for $100,000 in Rockland County Court this week, leaving him with just over $243,000 (£162,000), including penalties and and interest, to settle in the coming months, according to the New York Daily News.
His record will be wiped clean if he continues to meet the terms of the plea agreement.
