The 65-year-old singer/guitarist's medical woes began last week (01Aug14) when he was hospitalised in Pula, Croatia after falling ill onboard the group's tour bus.
He was flown back to the U.K. on Monday night (04Aug14) to continue his medical care, and he underwent subsequent tests which revealed a graft inserted during his 1997 quadruple heart bypass had become furred.
Parfitt was treated at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, where he had a stent inserted, and the band's manager Simon Porter says the procedure went off without a hitch and Parfitt is recuperating nicely.
Porter says in a statement to the Irish Independent, "We are all obviously delighted that Rick has made such rapid progress, especially as the band is shortly to unveil another exciting and innovative new project, details of which will be announced in the next couple of weeks."
The Whatever You Want hitmakers were forced to cancel six shows on their current European tour, including stops in Germany, Switzerland and Monte Carlo, Monaco, due to Parfitt's condition.
