RICK PARFITT JUNIOR, the son of the wild-haired Status Quo guitarist, has ditched emulating Robbie Williams in his desperate bid to crack the lucrative pop scene, and is now following in his father's rock 'n' roll footsteps.
The young rocker failed to impress at recent pop auditions, but since switching to rock he has attracted the attention of a "big name label" - and is making his ROCKING ALL OVER THE WORLD father proud with his own compositions.
He explains, "I originally went down the wrong route - the Robbie Williams pop route - but I'm going for the full-on rock sound now and am due to sign next week.
"We're still negotiating but we're almost there and it's a big name label.
"I've written a track. He won't say it, but secretly I think Dad's quite impressed."01/06/2005 13:45
