Status Quo rocker Rick Parfitt hated the band's heavily styled look in the 1960s because he thought the clothes made him look effeminate.

The ROCKIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD star felt uncomfortable wearing psychedelic outfits on stage but was so keen to find fame and fortune he would wear whatever he was told in a bid to promote the band.

But Parfitt is thrilled he's been able to wear his trademark uniform of blue jeans and a waistcoat since the early 1970s.

He says, "I wasn't ever comfortable with those frilly shirts, I don't think anybody was. You had to go along with what you were told, dress like this, act like that, be like this.

"But I was in the band, so I did whatever they told me to do - within reason."
