Starsky & Hutch star David Soul has taken full advantage of his British citizenship by travelling to Cuba to make an Ernest Hemingway documentary.
The American actor is currently working on a film about the famed writer and his time in Cuba so he has been travelling back and forth to shoot on location.
Soul moved to the U.K. in the 1990s and became a British citizen in 2004, and he insists the move allowed him to take on his current project as he would have struggled to gain the same kind of access with his American passport.
He tells Britain's Daily Mail, "I'm making a serious documentary on Ernest Hemingway that requires me travelling constantly to Cuba, which I never could have done if I stayed in America. It is something that I wanted to do for a long time but, as an American, we weren't permitted to go to Cuba."
The American government restricts the country's citizens from visiting Cuba and they need to apply for a special permit if they want permission to make the trip.
