The Hunger Games star lost Kate, his wife of 14 years, to the disease in 2009, and Tucci wishes he had the strength to be with her when she died.

When asked who he would like to say sorry to, Tucci tells Britain's Guardian Weekend magazine, "My late wife - she died of cancer. We tried everything we could do to save her. I wish that I could have done more and that I could have been with her at the moment she passed away. I couldn't be in that room, because I knew it would be so devastating that I wouldn't be able to take care of the kids after."

Later in the interview, Tucci is asked when he last cried and he responded, "I cried recently, thinking about my late wife."

Tucci, who has three children with Kate, later moved to London and married actress Emily Blunt's sister Felicity, and they welcomed their first child together in January, 2015.

He previously spoke of the guilt he felt for moving with his life after Kate's death, telling Britain's The Times he "panicked" after proposing to Felicity.

He adds, "It was very hard to go on vacations at first, really hard to go with Felicity some place. I felt guilty. It's horrible... You always feel guilty."
