Comic book legend Stan Lee is to create a brand new series just for children.
The beloved co-creator of Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and X-Men has joined forces with 1821 Comics to launch a multi-media imprint called Stan Lee's Kids Universe.
The range will introduce original characters and feature a collection of five books, with titles including Monsters vs. Kittens and Reggie the Veggie Crocodile.
Announcing the news at New York's Comic Con at the weekend (14-16Oct11), Lee said, "Our main purpose is we feel that there aren't enough comic books or books for kids that really hit the target, that gives them excitement and humour together and are filled with surprises.
"We have a whole new group of new characters that the kids can call their own, just as the teenagers called Spider-Man their own so many years ago."
