CLUELESS star Stacey Dash has defended her right to free speech after she was attacked on Twitter.com for publicly endorsing Republican U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.
The 46-year-old actress has revealed she won't be voting for incumbent Barack Obama when America goes to the polls in November (12) - because she favours his opponent.
She tweeted, "Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. team romney... vote romney", alongside a patriotic photo of herself posing in a red swimsuit in front of the U.S. flag.
Her political views prompted a backlash from fans online, who criticised her for making an ill-informed choice amid claims the Republican candidate would cut welfare benefits for those who need it most, including the unemployed and single mums - like her - if he became President.
One Twitter user ranted, "You're an unemployed black woman endorsing Mitt Romney. You're voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot", while another responded, "I guess Clueless star Stacey Dash endorsing Mitt Romney shows that she is indeed clueless".
Dash has now fired back at her detractors, tweeting, "My humble opinion... Everyone is entitled to one."
