The story of Broadway's troubled Spider-Man musical is to be parodied in a new stage show.
Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, which features music by U2 stars Bono and The Edge, finally opened this month (Jun11) after a total revamp following months of delays, on-set accidents, cast changes and the exit of director Julie Taymor, who is now battling producers for her share of royalties.
The show is now set for mockery in a new musical called The Legend of Julie Taymor, or The Musical That Killed Everybody!, which is destined to open in the Big Apple in August (11) as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
The comedy is a satire of the making of Broadway's most expensive musical, featuring songs such as Broadway's Burning, Boy Falls From The Rafters, 65 Million! and Julie, Julie, Why Did You Hurt Me?, according to Playbill.com.
