The Spice Girls will reportedly reunite for a performance at the Olympics closing ceremony, after finally convincing Victoria Beckham, according to the UK's Daily Mirror. Sources say the girls will perform a couple of their biggest hits at the closing extravaganza, and that Geri Halliwell may even wear her famous Union Jack dress.
The line-up for the closing ceremony is beginning to come together, with Liam Gallagher agreeing to perform Oasis track 'Wonderwall' with his new band Beady Eye. Apparently brother Noel Gallagher was also approached for the performance, though turned it out, with a source saying, "A couple of months back the Olympic production team got in touch with Noel (Gallagher) about playing his part in the closing ceremony. Along with his manager, they thought long and hard about it. It was a big temptation, with 650 million people expected to tune in on TV.But he knocked it back in the end - he has been on a great tour and he doesn't really need to do it. The organisers asked Liam if he was game and he said yes".
The Spice Girls will also join the likes of Take That and George Michael at the closing ceremony, with British rockers The Who likely to be the headline act. More acts are likely to be announced in the coming days.
