Defunct British girl band THE Spice Girls could be melted down by British museum MADAME TUSSAUDS - because they're not longer attracting the tourists.

The all-conquering five-piece were immortalised in wax by the London-based attraction at the height of their fame, but have lost popularity since their 2000 split.

Recently the most popular waxworks are Kylie Minogue, Simon Cowell and Jennifer Lopez. And sources at the museum insist the WANNABE hitmakers will go to make room for newer celebrities.
