Former Spice Girls star Melanie Brown is reviving her pop career with the release of her first video in eight years.
The singer unveiled the promo for dance track For Once in My Life on PerezHilton.com on Wednesday (18Sep13) and she is looking forward to showing off more of her new material.
She says, "I'm really excited to have a new single out! It has been eight years since my last solo single, so it has been a long time coming. This song reflects a whole bunch of emotions, from not being able to release new music to not having the confidence, but now it has come full circle and I am ready to release something that is really fun and I'm proud of.
"I hope this puts a smile on everyone's face. Please enjoy and thank you for all of your support to make this all possible!"
In the video, Brown shows off her toned body by stripping down to her underwear, and she turned it into a family affair by recruiting her husband, Stephen Belafonte, and daughter, Phoenix, to make cameos.
The star, also known as Scary Spice, has released the odd track in the eight years since her album L.A. State of Mind hit retailers, but she has not filmed a solo music video since 2005's Today.
Brown isn't the only Spice Girls member plotting a chart return - Geri Halliwell will release her new single, Half of Me, next month (Oct13).
