Sparta drummer TONY HAJJAR has directed a movie about his troubled life, insisting it is "the hardest thing" he has ever done.
EMENAKIA is based on his family's flight from Lebanon during the country's long-running civil war and his mother's death from cancer - but the star admits making the film was a cathartic experience.
He says, "At first the idea was just to do a film about anything. JIM (WARD, Sparta's frontman) said, 'There's no other subject that we should do a movie on.'
"At first I was like, 'Wow, that's pretty odd' because I'm not the kind of person to really speak out about my life. It just worked out; it was just the perfect time for me to let it all go.
"It was the hardest thing that I've ever done - mentally, physically, work-wise, in any kind of situation. For it to be complete and have people actually see it now, it's just an amazing feeling for me."
EmeNakia will be available to view on AtomFilms.com.
