South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have managed to earn an R-rating on their movie Team America: WORLD POLICE, after editing a sex scene and making other changes.

The $32 million (GBP17.8 million) puppet movie mocks celebrities, including Michael Moore, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins and GEORGE CLOONEY, as well as North Korean leader KIM JONG-II and American President George W Bush.

But producers of the film recently scurried to edit a number of scenes in the movie to avoid it being slapped with a more restrictive NC-17 rating.

The new agreement between the ratings board and Stone and Parker was reached just four days before a sneak preview is set to hit theatres.

The film opens across America on 15 October (04).
