Grunge rock legends Soundgarden will play their first show since 1997 in the group's native Seattle, Washington on Friday night (16Apr10).
Chris Cornell and his bandmates secretly reunited last year (09) and now plan to return to where it all started for them for their first comeback show.
Soundgarden, who are among the confirmed headliners at this year's (Aug10) Lollapalooza concert in Chicago, Illinois, will hit the stage at the Showbox at the Market on Friday.
Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd and drummer Matt Cameron have been rehearsing in their hometown in recent weeks, according to Billboard.com.
The group split after headlining Lollapalooza in 1996.
