British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back at home after giving birth to her son two months premature - but has had to leave her baby in the hospital.

The TAKE ME HOME star, 25, and her musician boyfriend Richard Jones welcomed SONNY into the world early in a London hospital in late April (04) after Ellis-Bextor was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia.

Ellis-Bextor left hospital on 30 April and has been visiting Sonny every day.

On her official website, a proud Ellis-Bextor wrote, "I am now back home after staying in hospital for about 10 days. It's been quite a ride.

"Sonny has been doing brilliantly. I'm sure he'll be home really soon. At the moment it's a bit early to tell, but I think he looks like Richard. Either way, he's very beautiful in his own right.

"I'm now feeling pretty much back to normal and can't wait to have my baby here with us - all very exciting."
