Actress Sophia Loren temporarily ditched her glamorous image to appear onscreen as a dowdy woman - on the orders of her son.
The 68-year-old Italian beauty went without make-up to star in BETWEEN STRANGERS, a film written and directed by her film-maker son Edoardo Ponti.
And Loren had no problem with looking less dazzling than her normal self for the movie - because the last time she appeared onscreen without make-up, it earned her an ACADEMY AWARD.
She says, "It was not the first time that I took my make-up off. When I did TWO WOMEN I took my make-up off and I got an OSCAR for it."
She adds of her son Ponti, "I'm very proud of what he's doing and how he's doing it. What came out of the film that he did was absolutely wonderful."17/09/2003 09:18
