Following on from the news of their latest album, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin have announced some UK shows in October. Full details of the UK shows are below, including a show at London's Hoxton Bar and Kitchen on the 11th October.
'Let It Sway' will be their third album for Polyvinyl Records and is set for release on the 16th August in the UK. The new album is produced by Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie fame, following on from the tender pop songs on 2008's 'Pershing' and their 2005 debut 'Broom'. 'Let It Sway' isn't just the title of Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's third full length -- it's a philosophy that ultimately helped save the band.
After enduring numerous tension-filled sessions while self-recording 2008's 'Pershing', the band members decided it would be best to relinquish control over production and pursue new options when it came time to record their next album.
"With 'Pershing' we tried to micromanage our sound and it wasn't a fun process," recalls drummer/vocalist Phil Dickey. "So for the new record it seemed like a good idea to try something we've never tried before."
Plus, as guitarist/vocalist John Cardwell adds, "It just seems lazy to not want to make the best-sounding record possible."
