R&B singer, Dj and fashionista Solange Knowles is set to be feted at the 2013 Black Women in Music event.
The Losing You hitmaker, who is the younger sister of pop superstar Beyonce, will be celebrated alongside British newcomer Lianne La Havas at the Essence magazine gala in recognition of their contributions to the entertainment industry.
Essence Editor-In-Chief Constance C.R. White says, "What makes Essence Black Women in Music so distinctive is that we are able to highlight the success of amazing African-American women in music who are not only changing the game, but also creating the rules...
"We also look forward to celebrating the incredible gifts of Lianne La Havas and Solange Knowles, who are each making their own inimitable mark on the industry and around the world."
The event will take place in Los Angeles on 6 February (13) and will be co-hosted by Knowles' longtime pal and 2012 honouree, former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland.
