Sofia Vergara can't understand why women have plastic surgery.

The 'Modern Family' actress has slammed the trend of females going under the surgeon's knife in a bid to look younger as she says they all end up looking the same.

She told Esquire magazine: "Los Angeles is crazy. The women all look the same now. That thing with the cheeks. Like Madonna. Who do they think they're fooling? It doesn't make them look young. You end up looking like a freak."

Although the 38-year-old beauty - who admitted one day she may "tweak her eyes" - is against major surgery, she confessed she once considered having her breasts reduced but was persuaded not to by her mother.

She said: "God is going to punish you if you cut them."

Sofia recently revealed how she fears she is losing her famous figure.

She said: "I don't look good in bathing suits anymore. I'm not complaining but I'm 38 years old now. It's not the same as when I was 20. No matter who tells me, it's not the same.

"Everything is still up there a little bit but now I have to really appreciate my figure. I took it for granted before."
