So Solid Crew rapper G-MAN insisted to a London court he has never needed a gun to protect himself, during his ongoing court case yesterday (18JUN03).
The THEY DON'T KNOW hardman, who was dating fellow So Solid bandmate LISA MAFFIA until last year (02), was in court in South London yesterday (18JUN03) facing a variety of gun-related charges.
The charges stem from an alleged incident in central London on 14 and 15 November last year (02).
Prosecutors have told SOUTHWARK CROWN COURT that G-Man - real naMe JASON PHILLIPS - had been seen talking to So Solid Crew singer SHANE NEIL - known as KAISH - at the scene of a suspected drug deal.
Police allege a "nervous and agitated" Mr Phillips "ran off at speed" from plain clothes officers, and then dumped a ME9 handgun.
But the musician told the court he has never made any enemies, and so he had no need to carry the weapon. He denied disposing of a gun and a marijuana cigarette during the police pursuit.
G-Man also claimed not to know anything about 11 bullets that were found in the South London flat he used to reside in.
The case continues.19/06/2003 14:01
