Scottish rockers Snow Patrol have hired a new bass player - just two weeks after former bassist MARK McCLELLAND was fired after tensions within the band damaged relationships beyond repair.

The RUN stars' new bass guitarist is PAUL WILSON, who used to play in Glasgow group TERRA DIABLO.

Snow Patrol's announcement also confirms keyboardist TOM SIMPSON is now a full-time member of the band.

A statement on the Snow Patrol website reads: "There has been much speculation about who will be joining us on the bass. Just like to say that for the most part you've all been right.

"Paul Wilson (formerly of Terra Diablo) has joined the Patrol on bass. He is a multi-instrumentalist and will be a magnificent addition to the band and he's already been heavily involved in the new songs."
