Hip-hop star Snoop Dogg's hopes of performing at Massachusetts' prestigious Harvard University next month (MAY05) have been dashed, with organisers.

In a short statement released last week (ends15APR05), Harvard Undergraduate Council president MATTHEW GLAZER cited unavoidable obstacles and financial considerations for reversing plans to bring the SIGNS rapper to the campus on 1 May (05).

But anti-sexual violence students were against the planned concert, citing the star's rhymes about slapping women to keep them under control on the track CAN YOU CONTROL YO HOE, which appears on his latest album R+G (RHYTHM + GANGSTA): THE MASTERPIECE.
