The Drop It Like It's Hot hitmaker launched his Leafs By Snoop line last November (15) in Colorado, where recreational marijuana is legal. The line features a range of cannabis flowers and concentrates in eight different strains.

Now he has landed a new deal to take his brand to Canada, thanks to a collaboration with bosses at Tweed, who also sell a collection of drug paraphernalia.

The hip-hop veteran and longtime weed aficionado reveals he has been working closely with Tweed experts to develop new strains to meet the needs of local medical marijuana patients.

Canadian Leafs By Snoop will be available in three varieties to start with - Sunset, Ocean View, and Palm Tree CBD - and the star is excited to branch out into a new market.

In a statement issued to AllHipHop.com, he says, "Like Hip-Hop, cannabis is as much a lifestyle as it is a culture. Leafs by Snoop is an expression of my experience with that culture over decades on the scene.

"What started for me in the '90s in Cali (California) now has a home in places like Colorado, where real progress is being made. Now that Leafs by Snoop is coming to Tweed, I'll be able to share my passion for the best cannabis on the planet with Canada."

Tweed president Mark Zekulin adds, "At this stage in his career, Snoop is much more than an artist, entertainer and entrepreneur. He's also one of the most trusted voices in cannabis the world over. With this partnership we're welcoming a cannabis culture icon into the Canadian industry, and as a true partner of the Tweed team."

Snoop will help to officially launch the venture with a party in Toronto on 27 October (16), when he will also celebrate turning 45. He actually marks his birthday on 20 October (16).

He also boasts a new media company dedicated to marijuana projects, titled MerryJane.com, through which he created his new MTV comedy series Mary + Jane.
