Snoop Dogg cancelled a show in Illinois on Friday night (23Jul10) because he "didn't feel safe" driving to the venue through a storm.
The hip-hop star was due to perform at John Barleycorn restaurant and club in Schaumburg, Illinois but axed his appearance at the last minute after bad weather hit the state and hampered his trip from Chicago.
Manager Kevin Hoy tells the Daily Herald, "(Snoop's manager told us the rapper) didn't feel safe driving in from (Chicago). We feel awful for our customers. We're trying to get him back."
Fans waited hours for the star to show up, and when the cancellation was announced, violence erupted among the 850-strong crowd, prompting organisers to call police.
NBC5 Chicago reports cops were called to calm the crowd and no arrests were made.
