Soul legend Smokey Robinson has cleared up comments he made about feeling sorry for Michael Jackson's physician DR. Conrad Murray, insisting he blames him completely for the star's death.
Dr. Murray is currently on trial in Los Angeles accused of involuntary manslaughter amid accusations he administered the dose of Propofol which killed his famous client in 2009.
After appearing at the Michael Forever tribute concert in Wales last weekend (08-09Oct11), Jackson's longtime pal Robinson told reporters for Access Hollywood, "I feel sorry, in a way, for the doctor... He was just so happy to be around Michael Jackson, and to do whatever Michael said whenever Michael said it."
However, Robinson has now explained that despite his remarks, he holds Murray fully accountable for the King of Pop's passing.
He tells Tmz.com, "Let me be clear, I believe Dr. Murray is responsible for Michael Jackson's death through his absolute negligence.
"I knew Michael Jackson since he was 10 years old and loved him like a little brother. His untimely death was one of the most tragic events in my life."
Murray denies the involuntary manslaughter charge.
