Slipknot are set to record the theme tune to British TV show Doctor Who when it makes a comeback to the small screen later this year (04).

The controversial American rockers - infamous for their horror masks and setting themselves on fire onstage - are in talks to record the theme tune to the classic BBC television show when it makes its comeback.

Drummer JOEY JORDISON says, "I'm so excited Doctor Who's coming back. It's a great show, wild and exciting. I watched it as a kid and it freaked me out.

"I'm 29 now and it was only a couple of years ago that I figured out what was going on."

BBC bosses have confirmed the show - starring 28 DAYS LATER actor CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON - will feature a tune based on the original 1963 RON GRAINER theme, reports British newspaper The Sun.
