Slipknot have pulled the plug on their appearance at a U.K music festival to allow drummer JOEY JORDISON to recover from a broken ankle.
The band was due to perform at this weekend's (23-24Aug08) Reading and Leeds Festival, but announced the cancellation "with huge regret and disappointment" on Wednesday (20Aug08).
A statement reads, "Cancelling shows is never an easy decision and we apologise to all our fans, friends and family for not being there to throw down with you,"
The rockers promised to play an extensive U.K. arena tour in December (08) to make up for the cancellation.
The group hit the headlines at the beginning of the week (18Aug08) when bandmates were blamed in part for a slaying in South Africa - a teenage fan donned a homemade Slipknot mask for a sword attack on a schoolpal.
Frontman Corey Taylor insists the band is being unfairly linked to the tragedy.
