Rapper Slim Thug is developing his own line of craft beer.
Over the summer (16), the Like a Boss star enjoyed a taste testing session at the 8th Wonder Brewery in his native Houston, Texas, and now he's revealed the meeting was part of his new project, which is set to launch in early 2017.
He told FirstWeFeast.com, "I actually sat down with them and we're coming out with my own beer that's coming out around Super Bowl. We're calling it Boss Beer. It's gonna be so exciting."
Slim Thug admits he's not an "everyday beer drinker", but he wanted to create a brew which his fellow African-Americans would be happy sipping on in a club.
"They broke it down to me by giving me the light beers and then the more dark beers and I could taste the difference," he explained. "We came up with a happy medium."
He continued, "A lot of the time when you go to the club it's mainly Latinos and white people who drink beer, so we're trying to come up with a cool beer that you can drink on our side too. We're known for poppin' bottles of champagne, but I'm trying to put something out where you won't look crazy drinking a beer in the club, you know? I think the people are going to like it."
Slim Thug won't be the first musician to enter the alcohol industry - rockers Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and Megadeth all boast their own beer brands, while fellow rappers Drake, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Ludacris, and Dr. Dre have tasted success in the liquor business.
