Sober rock star Slash regularly alarms security officials during checks at airports and high-profile events - thanks to an electrical heart device he had surgically installed to keep him alive if he relapses.
The former Guns N' Roses guitarist relies on a defibrillator he calls a "wreckage from my past" to keep his heart in rhythm.
But Slash admits the device has caused a series of headaches for security staff, who worry he's carrying weapons.
He explains, "If you put the (security) wand on that it can set it off... If I was to start using (drugs) again and if my heart was to go too fast or too slow it would put my heart into the right speed. It's a safety net the doctor gave me a few years back."
