MORCHEEBA singer Skye Edwards rewarded the singing teacher who helped enlarge her voice by recording a vocal practice CD with him.

The TRIGGER HIPPY star has been working with London vocal coach ROGER KANE since starting out with Morcheeba in 1995, and now she's the voice on his new teaching CD.

Edwards admits it was the least she could do for the man who has turned her whisper into the distinctive voice of the trio she fronts.

She says, "I had no formal training and people were always saying we were too quiet, but we had to be or my voice wouldn't be heard.

"So I went to Roger Kane, who charged GBP20 an hour. He was very aggressive at first but I got used to it. I went to him once a week for ages.

"I've been back to him since and he asked me if I'd help him with his CD. I got my lessons for free for doing that."
