Hit American series Six Feet Under is about to return to British television - but the ads trailing it are already causing trouble.
Britain's CHANNEL 4 has made posters and magazine ads in which models are made up as corpses in the style of beauty products commercials.
The pictures, which carry slogans such as "beauty to die for" and "wounds to die for" have fallen foul of the ADVERTISING STANDARDS AUTHORITY because they do not carry the name of the channel or the programme on them.
A spokesperson for the industry regulator says, "Our advice to Channel 4 is not to publish them."
But a Channel 4 spokesperson says, "Although the campaign focuses on death, the parallels with the fashion and beauty industry gives it a sardonic but tasteful feel."14/05/2003 14:03
