Editors at Page Six claim the imposter has been attending sought-after shows under the guise of the Thong Song hitmaker. However, his ruse was rumbled when he tried to con his way onto a private jet heading to the Caribbean.

Handing over his passport at the airport, it was revealed his name was in fact Gavin Barnes, and he was nearly 10 years younger than Sisqo. Speaking to Page Six, Gavin claimed he "Never said I was Sisqó. People thought I was him, and that wasn't cool."

Photos show he attended shows by designers including Kanye West, Philipp Plein and Vivienne Tam, and was even spotted sitting front row at some of the presentations, and meeting some of the designers. A snap taken at New York Fashion Week even shows Tam embracing the smiling imposter.

The designers have yet to comment on the report.

Sisqo's manager Jeff Allen was notified of the alleged fraud, and told Page Six, "Management has no idea who this guy is. It's flattering, I guess. Thanks for bringing it to our attention."

Sisqo, real name Mark Althavean Andrews, is best known for his hit Thong Song, and also appeared on Celebrity Wife Swap in the U.S. He is also the frontman of Dru Hill, and attempted to carve out a career in Hollywood with roles in Get Over It in 2001, and Snow Dogs alongside Cuba Gooding Jr. in 2002.

The singer, who has yet to comment on the report, is currently on tour in Las Vegas.
