Sir Paul McCartney has tied the knot for the third time.

The 69-year-old former Beatles rocker wed NANCY SHEVELL at London's Marylebone Register Office yesterday (09.10.11) - where he married his late first wife Linda in 1969 - and said afterwards he felt "terrific".

Following the nuptials, the singer held onto the 51-year-old US heiress' hand and declared: "I feel absolutely wonderful. I feel terrific. I feel married."

His former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr was at the wedding - which saw his seven-year-old daughter Beatrice act as bridesmaid - alongside wife Barbara Bach, as well as George Harrison's widow Olivia.

Nancy wore an Ivory silk dress, which was designed by Paul's fashion designer daughter Stella Mccartney.

Paul - who divorced second wife Heather Mills in 2008 - paid tribute to Linda at the star-studded reception, which was attended by around 100 guests including Ronnie Wood, Kate Moss, David Gilmour and Jools Holland.

He chose the date because it would have been the 71st birthday of his former Beatles bandmate John Lennon, who was shot dead in 1980.
